#69 Going Slightly Mad
At that moment, with hope within arms' reach, my body suddenly stalled. Had I found it so hard to trust a person that I wouldn't even talk to this kind-faced man?
_It's the kindest-faced ones that are the evilest._ The voice came from the back of my head. It was dark and crooked.
_How else did he know that you were in trouble?_ it said in its wretched croak. The state of my clothes was surely enough to say that I was not where I wanted to be.
_Then how exactly will he get you out without a Goddam key? There's no way you can fit through that window without chopping off half your bum._ The voice had a point. Not even the skinny girls from the bunker could fit through that window - shoulders too wide, arse too big - and I was curvier than most.
I slunk further into the wall. It was then that I noticed that he wasn't exactly looking into my eyes.
