A Friendly Gesture
Something so simple as you sharing your last pomegranate with me. We held the fruit in our frail hands, pulling it apart to behold the beauty on the inside. I snuck a glance at you, trying to take you in for the first time. Your eyes lit up in wonder as the insides of pomegranate seeped onto our hands, staining them red. A broad grin broke across your face. That one crooked tooth sticking out ever so slightly caught my attention, making me smile in return at the many flaws we have come to embrace about ourselves. We ate the pomegranate in silence, save for the quiet sound of a blossoming friendship echoing in the background.
