Airships: The View

Hawkeye leaned on the guardrail and ran a hand through his hair, giving a moment to the spectacular view all around them. Elletra joined him, realising just how clean the mountain air was compared to the soot-filled smog of the city.

Hawkeye passed her a spyglass, pointing at something in the distance behind them.

"If you look that way, just there, you can probably see part of Foray. It's an Aery - one of hundreds all over the Raventops that act as supply and signal outposts. If you look for - right there, you see? - if you look exactly in the right direction, you might even see the signalling tower."

Elletra twisted the glass until a collection of platforms and towers appeared, a long way distant. There was something moving...

"Are they signalling us?"

Hawkeye looked at her, smiling.

"No, although it can sometimes seem that way -" he stopped, thinking about it, "That said, there aren't any other Aeries in this direction."

He pulled out a smaller spyglass.

"So they are. Lookout! Signal from Foray!"
