He sat quietly, refusing to look in my direction. I stood at the door, bags in hand. My eyes blurred with tears.

This wasn't how I wanted it to end. I loved him. I had never meant for this to end at all.

I never meant for us to fight. I never meant to keep such a dangerous secret. I never meant to hurt him. To lie to him. I wasn't ready to say goodbye.

I was crying now. No longer able to hold back the tears. My chest ached with a pain so sharp that it was hard to breathe.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Please, please don't give up on me yet." I begged. Still, he refused to look at me.
